In addition to sending insulated containers by road to Vauxhall and Southtown stations for despatch by rai, when there was sufficent demand Birds Eye used the tramway to despatch large amounts of their product in bulk direct from their premises to the national rail network fopr disrtibution. With diesel shunters at the front and rear the Birds Eye train holds traffic up as it crosses the road leading to the Haven Bridge. Other goods carried by the tramway such as timber and coal can be seen in the trucks centre left. In additionto Birds Eye and the railway tramway, many other features of Gt. Yarmouth's past are captured in this photograph including the Corporation buses, pleasure steamers and the imprewssive Breydon Bridge. It is August 1959.
